Leadership: Elliot Bloom

Elliot Bloom serves as the Coalition’s Director of Communications and Public Relations.   Elliot is also a Senior Director at New Jersey-based Taft Communications and a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.  Before working with Taft and our coalition, Elliot served as Senior Vice President, Chief Communications Officer for Travelport Ltd., where he was responsible for crisis management, corporate communications, media relations and employee communications. Elliot has also served as the Chief Communications Officer for travel and real estate giant, Cendant Corporation, and was responsible for handling one of the most widely publicized corporate crises in the history of American business. As head of marketing and public relations for The University of California/Irvine University Hospital and Medical School, he was instrumental in reshaping the image of the UCI Birthing Center within the Hispanic community of Orange County following years of misguided hospital administration policy. Additionally, Elliot was a senior associate at Margolis Healy Associates, a recognized leader in campus safety and security, where he provided consulting services to administrators and staff at many of the nation’s universities and colleges in the area of crisis communications.  Elliot has also held senior communications positions at the world’s largest marketing research firm, ACNielsen, and within PepsiCo’s beverage, snack food, and restaurant divisions: Pepsi-Cola Company, Frito-Lay, Inc., and Taco Bell Corporation.
